One way to practice generosity is to give energy where it is needed whether that is in the form of time, money or love.
The most difficult time to be generous is when we ourselves are feeling poor. While some of us have experienced actually being in the red financially, there are those of us who would feel broke even if we had a million dollars in the bank. Either way, as the old adage goes, it’s always in giving that we receive. Meaning, when we’re living in a state of lack, the very gesture we may least want to give is the very act that could help us create the abundance we seek. One way to practice generosity is to give energy where it’s needed. Giving money to a cause or person in need is one way to give energy. Giving attention, love, or a smile to another person are other acts of giving we can offer. After all, there are people all over the world that are hungry for love.
Sometimes, when we practice generosity, we practice it conditionally. We might be expecting to “receive back” from the person to whom we gave. We might even become angry or resentful if that person doesn’t reciprocate. However, trust in the natural flow of energy & you’ll find yourself practicing generosity with no strings attached. This is the purest form of giving. Remember what you send out will always come back you. Selflessly helping a friend in need without expecting them to return the same favor in the same way & know that you, too, will receive that support from the universe when you need it.
Besides, while giving conditionally creates stress (because we are waiting with an invisible balance sheet to receive our due), giving unconditionally creates & generates abundance. We give freely, because we trust there’s always an unlimited supply.
Being aware of how much we’re always supported by the universe is one of the keys to abundance & generosity. Consciously remember the times you’ve received support from expected & unexpected sources. Remember anyone who has helped you when you’ve needed it most & bless all situations that come into your life for the lessons & gifts they bring you. Remember, all things given and received emanate from generosity. Giving is an act of gratitude. Plant the seeds of generosity through your acts of giving & you’ll grow the fruits of abundance for yourself & those around you.

Letting go of your need to control can help you forge bonds of companionship making you feel wonderfully secure. Though it’s easy to assume the best defense against uncertainty is to be in power, working in tandem with others—rather than exerting authority over them—can give you the security of knowing that they’re on your side.
Instead of becoming your competitors or challengers, they become team members that can lend you strength when you need it, offer you guidance when necessary, & lift your spirits. Letting go of the need to be in control & working side by side with others will give you the support and feeling of security you need to achieve your goals.
The same holds true in design. Don’t be afraid to “let go” and be fluid in your pairings. What made us happy as children can still put a smile on our lips. Mixing old with new, fun with serious and bright with dull can open a whole other world of possibilities you may not ever have imagined possible. It is in learning to let go where the marriage of opposites comes alive and dazzles. Have fun!

We’re wonderful creatures who have it in us to create. “Creativity” is the word we use for our desire to make use of our inner resources, employ our imagination, knit together our thoughts and our feelings into beautiful things like songs, quilts, or novels, and feel like the hero of our own story. It’s the way we make manifest our potential, make use of our intelligence, and embrace what we love. When we create, we feel whole, useful & devoted.
Unfortunately, we often also feel anxious as we create or contemplate creating. There are many reasons for this. We get anxious because we fear we may fail, because we fear we may disappoint ourselves, because the work can be extremely hard, because the marketplace may criticize & reject us, and so on. We want to create, because creating is a wonderful thing, but we also hesitate to create, to spare ourselves anxiety. This is the simple, profound dilemma in which millions of people often find themselves.
The solution is very simple to say, although much harder to put into practice. In order to create & to deal with the anxiety that can come with creating, we must acknowledge & accept anxiety is part of the process, demand that we’ll learn—and then really put our creative juices into practice.
When you begin to think of your home as your own personal treasure chest, you start to envision the spoils of success in which you’d like to surround yourself & every visitor who finds his or her self in your abode. What does your home say about you? Are you humble? Daring? Creative…extravagant…or thrifty? Perhaps you’re a combination of many of these? Whatever your personal style, do your best to make your home the treasure chest you always dreamed of discovering.

Life is a circular journey through our issues and processes, and this is why things that are technically new often seem very familiar. It is also why, whenever we work to release a habit, change a pattern, or overcome a fear, we often encounter that issue one last time, even after we thought we had conquered it. Often, when this happens, we feel defeated or frustrated that after all our hard work we are still dealing with the same problem. However, the reappearance of a pattern, habit, or fear, is often a sign that we have come full circle, and that if we can maintain our resolve through one last test, we will achieve a new level of mastery in our lives.
When we come full circle, there is often the feeling that we have arrived in a familiar place, but that we ourselves are somehow different. We know that we can handle challenges that seemed insurmountable when we began our journey, and there’s the feeling we might be ready to take on a new problem, or some new aspect of the old problem. We feel empowered and courageous to have taken on the challenge of stopping a pattern, releasing a habit, or overcoming a fear & to have succeeded. At times like these, we deserve a moment of rest and self-congratulation before we move on to the next challenge.
Coming full circle is like stepping into a clearing where, for a moment, we can see where we came from and where we are standing at the same time. Remembering that we will be tested again is important, but it’s also important to pause and take a look at the ground we’ve covered, honoring our courage, our persistence, and our achievement. Then we can begin the next leg of our circular journey with a fuller understanding of where we are coming from. No matter what, remember, your life is yours to design. Now grab it with gusto!
