It's Wicked Wednesday!

It’s Wicked Wednesday!

Defining objectives in our relationships can help us to create more meaningful connections. We may not always feel our relationships need to have an objective past the simple ability to share experiences, but, choosing to give our connections a purpose can enrich them beyond measure. By being clear about what we hope to gain from our relationships, we’ve a stronger awareness of the actions we need to take to meet our needs. Likewise, considering what we can offer the people in our lives can help us to feel more proactive in creating harmonious connections. As a result, our relationships become purposeful vehicles for creating more joy in our lives. With a clear objective in mind, you can attract the types of relationships that enrich your experiences today & every day.

Ever notice of those you know that the person with that innate ability to creatively work items into their home, wardrobe, offie space, &tc., are the very same people who have the knack for throwing cool gatherings with just the right mix of people, food & drinks? It’s true! If you find yourself having difficulty creating joy & harmony in your personal or work relationships, why not try “mixing it up” in your home? Or, try out a fresh & unexpected outfit / accessory combo? Beginning to practice clarity with both your personal relationships, as well as in your personal style will have you in expert territory in no time flat. Pretty soon, you’ll be throwing the killer soires!

Understanding the nature of our industriousness helps us to direct our efforts into activities that are the most beneficial for us, which will ultimately make it easier for us to do things that give our lives greater meaning. Even though there are times when we think doing more will give us more, if we aren’t careful about what we do, we’re actually more likely to deplete our energy. Engaging in things that feed your soul & energize you will make the little extra you do give you much more than you imagined.

Expectations and Preconceived Notions.

Many of us don’t take the time to notice or acknowledge how beautiful we are as human beings. We may be great lovers of beauty, seeing it in the people, places & things around us, while completely missing it in ourselves. Some of us feel it vain to consider our appearance too much, or we may find when we look at ourselves, all we see are imperfections. Often we come to the mirror with expectations & preconceived notions about beauty that blind us from seeing ourselves clearly. As a result, we miss the beauty closest to us, the beauty we are. Sometimes we see our beauty in a shallow way, noticing how well we are conforming to social norms, but failing to see the deeper beauty shining out from within & that’ll continue to shine regardless of how we measure up to society’s ideal.

If we can cut through all these obstacles & simply appreciate how beautiful we are, we free up so much energy. We also become less dependent upon the opinions and feedback of others since we become our own greatest admirers. Many of us know after a great yoga practice or a long, deep meditation, we’re more able to see how beautiful we are. This is because we have released some of our baggage, thus unburdening ourselves & summoning forth the spirit that dwells within us. It is the heady combination of the divine spirit & the human body that conveys beauty more accurately than anything else.

To keep ourselves in touch with our own beauty, we can surround ourselves with images that reflect our beauty back to us—photos of a relative or child who has our eyes, images of teachers who embody spirit, or self-portraits that capture our essence in a way that allows us to see ourselves anew. The best way to keep ourselves in touch with our own beauty is to keep looking deeply into our own souls & opening our eyes to the human being we see in the mirror every day.

Respond, Balance & Communication: Allow HOME to be a feeling you carry inside yourself, wherever you are.

The word “home” has a wide variety of connotations. To some, home is merely a place where basic needs are addressed. To others, home is the foundation from which they draw their strength & tranquility. Still, others view home as a place inexorably linked to family. Yet all these definitions of home imply somewhere we can be ourselves &  are totally accepted. AT home, we feel safe enough to let down our guard, peaceful enough to really relax, and loved enough to want to return day after day. However, these qualities needn’t be linked to a single space, or any space at all. Home is where the heart is and can be in the locale you live, in a community you once lived, or in the country where you plan to live someday. Or, home can be a feeling you carry inside yourself, wherever you may be.

The process of evolution can require you to undergo transformations that uproot you. Moving from place to place can seem to literally divide you from the foundations upon which you’ve come to depend. Since your home is so intimately tied to the memories that define you, you may feel you’re losing a vital part of yourself when you leave behind your previous home, city, state, or even country. And, as it may take some time before you fashion new memories, you may feel “homeless” even after settling into your new abode. To carry your home with you, you need only become your own foundation. Doing so is merely a matter of staying grounded & centered, and recognizing the pleasures you enjoyed in one place will still touch your heart in another – if you allow them.

Your home can be any space or state of being that fulfills you, provided you’re at peace with yourself & your surroundings. A person can feel like home to you, as can seasons & activities. If you feel disconnected from what you once thought of as home, your detachment may be a signal you’re ready to move on. Simply put, you’ll know you’ve found your home when both your physical environment & energetic surroundings are in harmony with the individual you are within.
